Schedule of a Typical Service on Gas and/or Electrical Operated Equipment:-

Clean and check all control switch contacts.
Check cable connections are tight.
Check element cable connections are tight and that the insulation is satisfactory.
Check earth connections are tight.
Check pilot lamps are working and fit new lamps as necessary.
Check fuse and renew if necessary.
Check ball valve is operating freely, clean piston and renew washer if necessary.
Check float is not punctured.
Check cold water inlet strainer and clean.
Check overflow pipe, drain pipe and draw-off tap are clear.
Check safety valve and relief valve (steam).
Check oven doors seals and lubricate door hinges, springs and door locking devices.
Check door handles and catches and tighten.
Check thermostats and recalibrate.
Clean and examine all burner jets and clear as required, adjust gas pressure and air mixture for correct combustion.
Check regulo controls and adjust.
Check all flame failure devices for operation.
Check pilot lights and adjust.
Check gas governor, adjust gas pressure.
Check all gas cocks and lubricate, when required.
Check and grease electric motors and adjust drive belts as required.
